Blackpool by Geoff Cunliffe

Geoff Cunliffe writes "Local gossip which may interest you is that delivery of two extra Flexity trams is said to be imminent. They are being purchased to cover the extra requirements of the Talbot Road extension to North Station, although that seems to have stalled a bit for the moment. It is rumoured that they will be delivered in the wartime utility grey with yellow relief livery that the new Palladium buses carry. It has been suggested they would look much better in the traditional green and cream!"

A ‘new’ heritage tram in Blackpool for twelve months is Birkenhead 20, a Wirrall Tramway based 1900 Milnes-built open topper in a smart brown and cream livery. As usual, Alan Robson has obtained some lovely photographs as it arrived at the Blackpool depot and on an initial proving run near Gynn Square. His pictures can be seen as usual on blackpooltram.blogspot.co.uk

This site also includes pictures of a recent Ribble Running Day at Lytham, Fylde coast. The pictures are of excellent quality.
